Mariah Carey And James Packer Are Engaged After Months Of Dating

Mariah Carey greets the year with brand new goals together with her husband-to-be, James Packer. You heard it right. After barely a year of dating, the couple is said to be ready to take the relationship to the next level and is engaged.

The engagement is said to have taken place at the songstress' hometown of New York City on Thursday evening according to People.

The intimate event involves Mariah's friends who will witness the Australian gaming tycoon "get down on one knee and propose' in front of them, The Guardian learned.

And to show his love, Packer is said to have prepared a 35-carat diamond sparkler described as 'the most breathtaking engagement ring' ever in showbiz.

Either Mariah or James has not commented yet about their engagement or their wedding date. However, their reps did confirmed that, indeed, the couple are officially engaged.

"Yes, the couple were engaged tonight in New York," Daily Mail reported.

According to Hollywood Life, after three months of dating, the Butterfly songstress has moved in with the Australian billionaire in his house in Beverly Hills. The songstress has, in fact, made some major redecoration and arrangement of the room by the time she started living with James.

Mariah and James Packer are said to have met 'a few years ago' at the Hercules premiere. The songstress has also just split from ex-husband, Nick Cannon and started dating Packer months after the split.

They officially posed as a couple during the premiere of The Intern in September last year.

The singer had been in two previous marriages with Nick Cannon and the music executive, Tommy Mottola.

James Packer, on the other hand, was previously married to two supermodels, Erica Baxter and Jodhi Meares.
