LeBron James Expresses Concern over Johnny Manziel amid Las Vegas Rumors
Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James commented about the latest rumors surrounding Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.
"I think it's more concerned for him individually," James said during the Cavalier's Wednesday shootaround, reported by ESPN.
Manizel, who was a star at Texas A&M, is signed on with James' marketing firm, LRMR. In regards to the rumors that Manziel went to Las Vegas on Saturday night, James stated that he has heard a little bit about them but does not have all of the details.
"I'm not quite sure, I don't know all the details on it. I've really kind of haven't been all up on it but I've heard a little of it," James said. "It's just a distraction for not only himself, but for everyone that's around him including family, people that represent him, the people that are around him. And he'll figure it out at some point. We all hope."
ESPN Las Vegas reported that Manziel was seen at a nightclub in Las Vegas. He was supposedly using the name "Billy."
Per the news outlet:
"Our sources tell us Manziel was at a popular night club on the strip Saturday night. The QB entered wearing a blonde wig, a fake mustache, glasses, and a hoodie.
Manziel introduced himself as 'Billy.' He was there into the 3am hour and when it came time to pay the bill, he asked to have it comped because he didn't bring cash and also didn't want to put it on his card. However, the sources tell us he ended up paying with his card and signing the check."
Manziel reportedly missed a check in with the team on Sunday, which was a part of his concussion protocol. The Browns later stated that they did not know where Manziel was but added that he was not required to attend Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In this season, Manziel threw for 1,500 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He made six starts and appeared in a total of nine games.
Manziel has a history of letting partying get into the way of his career. After last season ended, he had checked himself into a rehabilitation center for an undisclosed reason. Manziel said at the time that he was focused on becoming a better player and teammate.
