TCU’s Trevone Boykin Charged with Assaulting a Police Officer in Bar Fight [Update]
UPDATE:
TCU coach Gary Patterson issued this statement:

Original Story
TCU's quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested Thursday morning in relation to a fight he had with bar employees and the police.
Boykin, 22, was officially charged with a third-degree felony for assaulting a public servant in San Antonio. Boykin had reportedly charged at the bicycle patrol officers and struck one of them before being subdued. He was assigned on a $5,000 bond.
According to the several media reports that cited authorities involved with the case, Boykin was at the Pat O'Brien bar with some of his teammates. Right before 2 a.m., some of the people in the bar had started to trash talk Boykin, who got very upset. A fight began inside of the establishment where Boykin hit a bar employee before everyone was removed.
The fight then continued outside, leading to the arrival of the San Antonio bicycle patrol officers. After the fight was broken up with the help of the bar's bouncers, the officers decided against arresting anyone. However, once the patrol officers stared to speak with the bar employees as Boykin and his group were leaving, Boykin decided to charge at them. He hit one of the officers before "several officers took [him] to the ground where the fight continued." Boykin reportedly only stopped struggling when one of the officers threatened to tase him.
The officer that Boykin hit needed treatment for some lacerations.
ESPN quoted the incident report, which was provided by the city's police department that described the attacker as "very aggressive."
Boykin's arrest comes at a very inopportune moment for TCU, who is scheduled to play Oregon this Saturday in the Alamo Bowl.
TCU's athletic department released this statement:
"We are aware of a situation last night and are gathering information. We will continue to closely monitor this and evaluate additional details as they become available."
Boykin, who is a senior, is expected to enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
