Switch To Sprint And Save Half Of What You Pay To AT&T Or Verizon; What You Should Know

Sprint is pitching a new deal to current AT&T and Verizon customers to switch and save 50 percent on their current monthly bills for talk, text and data.

Sprint is making an offer to AT&T and Verizon customers, and it's a good one. The third largest wireless carrier in the U.S. has promised to lower the customer bills by half if they switch from AT&T or Verizon. Sadly, T-Mobile customers cannot take advantage of this new offer as the carrier exclusively targets the two biggest national carriers. Dubbed as "Cut Your Bill in Half," the new offer is a limited time promotion and kicks off Friday.

In order to take advantage of the new Sprint offer, customers must upload their latest AT&T or Verizon bill to Sprint's offer page or walk to any store. Sprint will then cut the price on the bill in half without affecting the services that they were receiving with rival carriers. As per the offer's guidelines, the plan includes unlimited calls and texts and a data tier that "closely matches" the data allowance in the current monthly rate plan. Fair enough?

Hold up, as there is more. In fine print, the carrier notes that the customer willing to switch carriers must purchase a new phone through Sprint's leasing program or at full price. Customers must trade in their existing AT&T or Verizon phone, which upon failing will attract a $200 non-return phone charge. Another notable point is that the plan that you finalize should be good for a long, long time as making changes to it, like upgrading to higher data tier will end the half-rate offer.

As a part of its offer, Sprint is offering to pay the cost of terminating an existing contract with up to $350 credit. But Sprint's new plan may not support various features like tethering.

Sprint's CEO Marcelo Claure still argues that the new Sprint half price offer is the best deal out there.

"The Cut Your Bill in Half Event clearly demonstrates that Sprint delivers the best value in wireless," Claure said. "It's as simple as this: Bring Sprint your Verizon or AT&T bill along with your phone and we'll cut your rate plan in half. That's a 50 percent savings on your rate plan every month. And this great deal is not just a promotion. This will be the customer's ongoing price."
