Scott Weiland's Cause Of Death Due To Drug Overdose, Police Reports Say
Scott Weiland's death in December 3 was further investigated by the police who confirmed that the rocker's cause of death was really due to a drug overdose as initial reports stated.
The recent report also freed Tommy Black from drug possession charges and relevance in the musician's death.
"[The narcotics] were found in a bunk and obviously with several people residing on a bus a number of people could have potentially possessed those narcotics, so at the end of the day we decided not to pursue charges against him," Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Mike Hartley told People via Blabbermouth.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner in Minneapolis also released a report saying that the Stone Temple Pilots guitarist died of an overdose from a concoction of several substances including 'cocaine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA; also known as "sally" or "the love drug," and chemically related to the drug ecstasy) and ethanol.'
The report also showed Weiland's other illnesses such as cardiovascular disease, asthma and multi-substance dependence.
It can be remembered that Tommy Black was arrested on December 4 as his tour bus is found to contain cocaine. This is the same bus where Weiland is found dead. He was released a day after the arrest, Billboard remembered.
Scott Weiland's ex-wife, Mary Forsberg Weiland, previously released an essay urging fans not to glorify the rocker's death. Instead, she expressed her anger over the rocker's decision to completely given up on his life, Fox San Diego said.
"Our hope for Scott has died, but there is still hope for others. Let's choose to make this the first time we don't glorify this tragedy with talk of rock and roll and the demons that, by the way, don't have to come with it... We are angry and sad about this loss, but we are most devastated that he chose to give up," she wrote.
