Frank Sinatra’s Centennial Birthday Commemorated
Frank Sinatra, one of the most influential pop vocalist in his age, would have turned 100 on December 12 this year. And this year, the media remembered how his influence and style has endured all through these years.
On Sinatra's birthday, People gathered precious, intimate photographs and memories from his close family members. His daughter, Tina Sinatra, for example, remembered him being 'very Italian' in his birthdays, not only celebrating it with a glass of Jack Daniels but also blowing his candles every years with a lot of people invited to his party.
"Birthdays, they signify life. And he was very, very Italian and very happy to share and to bestow and to celebrate people and himself," Tina Sinatra told the publication.
Despite his fame, the singer made sure to celebrate his birthday with family and close pals-be it in a classy hotel such as the Beverly Wilshire Hotel where he spent his 50th birthday or at his home in Rancho Mirage, California.
"We did it for his birthday instead of Christmas. We piled all his gifts on him, and then we took the picture. It was hysterical," Tina Sinatra remembered the birthday of his father in 1968 when they surprised the musician with gifts.
Meanwhile, for the hitmaker's 100th year, Jack Daniels is said to have produced a special edition of 100-proof Sinatra Century sold at for $499.99. The product also includes an unreleased Sinatra recording, Yahoo News said.
The Hoboken Historical Museum in Hoboken (where the singer grew up with his father the Irish boxer Anthony O'brien and his mother Dolly) also honored the celebrity by having sold-out gala at Stevens Institute of Technology.
