The Grammys season is here again for another set of winners for this year's best artists in the music industry. Though the announcement of winners will still be on February 15, 2016, yet it is clear that Kendrick Lamar has been the leading artist to be nominated for the competition.
In the list provided by E! Online, Kendrick Lamar has received 11 nominations among the 83 categories.
He is nominated in categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Taylor Swift, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/ Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video.
The King of Rap has to prove its worth together with other close contenders Taylor Swift and The Weekend. The three of them are said to have received 25 nods for this year's prestigious music competition, LA Times said.
Most of Lamar's nominations are tracks from his third album, "To Pimp a Butterfly." His collaboration with Taylor Swift, 'Bad Blood' and the rap song with Kanye West "All Day" have been included in the list.
The 26-year old songstress, on the other hand, is nominated for her top-selling album, "1989" and The Weeknd's for his "Beauty Behind the Madness" collection.
"It's a testimony to his artistry. He's someone that's very serious about his art and about his craft, and has been working it for quite some time. And this is one of those instances where the work pays off," Neil Portnow, Grammy Foundation President said as mentioned in Yahoo News.
The 58th Grammys Music Awards announcement of winners is slated to be in L.A.'s Staples Center on Feb. 15, 2016. No host has been announced yet in the initial announcement of nominees.
