Sylvester Stallone is having a comeback from his 1976 film, Rocky that made him a name in Hollywood. However, Creed takes in a new angle as it explores the story of Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky Balboa's deceased friend and close competitor in the ring, Apollo Balboa.

So, what is to be anticipated in the movie?

In its official synopsis, Warner Bros via Collider said that the movie will open up with Adonis Creed (played by Michael Jordan) who grew up without knowing of his late father's achievement in boxing. Adonis has the same determination and fighting spirit of his father and thus decided to head to Philadelphia where he would meet, the legend Rocky now, a retiree from the boxing ring.

The two are then set to follow a journey together as Rocky trains Adonis as he discovers more of his fighting prowess in the ring.

In the movie, viewers are going to see whether Adonis will develop the heart of a true fighter aside from his exceptional boxing skills.

Fans, who are expecting some emotional meltdown and drama between father and son should discard this idea as Bustle said that the movie will hardly talk about Apollo, who is played by Carl Weathers in the first Rocky films.

Though, Weathers is not included in the film's casting, he expressed last year that he would love to participate a Rocky spinoff.

"I think it could be wonderful, if it's pulled off today with the kind of energy and I guess passion that we worked with, why not? I was always in favor of trying to do a spinoff of Creed when I was this young actor and I was looking for something else to do," he said in an interview in August last year.

Creed will also focus on Adonis' phase as a starting boxing amateur trying to prove his worth in the ring as he tries his skills against Mickey's gym regular Leo "The Lion" Sporino, MTV said.

Meanwhile, the former basketball superstar, Michael Jordan talks about his preparation to achieve his boxer's body.

"That's something we worked on for months. When [director] Ryan [Coogler] was first talking about it, we were trying to figure out ways to shoot the boxing scenes differently than any other fight film," Jordan told the news source.
