Mariah Carey Nick Cannon Updates; Songstress Shares How She Met Billionaire Boyfriend James Packer

Mariah Carey gushed how she and her Australian gaming tycoon met a few months ago and started a loving relationship.

In the Steve Harvey show, the pop diva revealed that they have known each other for years before finally dating, News.com.au said.

"We first met in Aspen. A couple years ago we were at the Hercules premiere. We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So we hit it off," she told the host.

"Ain't he lucky," Harvey joined in with the discussion.

"I'm lucky too. He really is [great]," the singer announced.

During the show, the diva is seen sporting a pricey Van Cleefs & Arpels diamond necklace and a butterfly-shaped sparkler which she declared given by her new man.

"Oh, this old thing? [It was] a very, very big surprise, very nice," she said.

The jewelries are said to have been given as a gift for her when Packer opened a casino in Macau, Sydney Morning Herald said.

"Really nice. I wore it that night... he was opening a casino."

The songstress and the Australian billionaire had their first red carpet back in September during The Intern premiere.

A source who saw the couple during the event told ET that time that they are both love-up and happy.

James was leading Mariah through the theatre room and had his hand on her back. Mariah looked very proud to be there with James. He seemed a little more under the radar than she is but looked at her very adoringly and happy," the source said.

As for the Infinity singer, her radiant look is something 'automatic' for her.

"I don't think either one of us thought, 'Here we are, making a debut,' he's not that guy. It was a lot for him. ... I just automatically pose. I can't help it!" the 45-year old songstress said on the set of her Hallmark Channel holiday movie, A Christmas Melody.
