Chris Hemsworth Dieting And Losing Weight For Upcoming Movie 'Heart Of The Sea'
Chris Hemsworth shocked Twittersville when he posted a picture of his current weight loss for an upcoming movie 'Heart of the Sea.'
In the photo, the 32-year old Australian heartthrob went topless exposing his lean figure, all the beefy muscles he had grown for Thor are all gone. He was also wearing a scraggy wig and had put on some makeup all over his face and chest giving the impression of a man in a shipwreck.
"Just tried a new diet/training program called Lost At Sea" and "wouldn't recommend it...#IntheHeartoftheSea," the Avengers actor captioned the photo as mentioned in ABC.
Heart of the Sea got its inspiration from the classic, Herman Melville's Moby Dick. In the movie, Hemsworth will play the role of Owen Chase, the first mate of the 1820s whaling ship Essex. In the midst of the ocean, the ship, unfortunately, met a sad fate when a whale attacked it leaving its survivors in a dire situation.
In a previous interview, the 32-year old actor revealed how he succeeded in the weight loss program for the Ron Howard film.
"Throughout the shoot, each week or two we'd reduce the calories, down, down until, we were at about 500 or 600 calories a day for the last couple weeks. I can't say that I want to do it again, I read things now and if it has any mention of being skinny, I'm like that's a pass," he said.
Ron Howard also revealed the importance of rigorous workout for the actors to lose weight safely.
"They had to work out every day, even on shooting days, because they had to lose the weight pretty fast and they had to lose it safely. They needed to keep burning the calories and we also needed that sinewy strength that was more of that era, as opposed to a kind of cut, buff look," Howard shared as mentioned in Mirror.
Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth also answered questions from his fans and followers on the same day when he upload the photo showing his new weight.
In the Q&A with the hashtags #AskChrisHemsworth #IntheHeartoftheSea, the Aussie actor revealed that he is better in drama than in comedy. He also shared plans of collaborating with brother, Liam Hemsworth in the future, E! Online reported.
However, Chris revealed that he is for Team Peeta in the recently-released movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.
