Christmas would not be complete without Home Alone. Now, on its 25th year, here's a look on how the stars in the comedy had fared in their showbiz careers.

It can be remembered that the 1990 film has earned at least $500 million in the box office in its first release. Together with the next four sequels, the comedy has made the 10-year old Macaulay Caulkin (who played the role of Kevin McCallister) as one of the youngest millionaires in Hollywood, Daily Mail said.

But what happened to Macaulay Caulkin and the rest of the Home Alone cast?

Now, at 35 years old, Macaulay Caulkin has since keep his self from drug addiction since his near-death heroine battle in 2012. However, sources said that the actor cannot keep himself away from cigarettes.

"He's put his nicotine addiction into overdrive. Almost every time I see him, he has a cigarette dangling from his lips and is puffing furiously," a source from the National Enquirer previously said.

As for Kevin McCallister's parents, the 61-year old O'Hara who played as McCallister's mom has a steady career in both TV and film projects. She got an Emmy Award in her career and has been a regular cast of CBC's Schitt's Creek.

John Heard, on the other hand, has turned 70 years old this year and has recently appeared on TV hits like Modern Family and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Keiran Culkin, who appeared as Kevin's baby brother, has turned 33 this year and was nominated for the Golden Globes in the 2002 film, Igby Goes Down.

Aside from being one of the top-grossing comedies of all time, Home Alone is said to have dominated the theaters for 12 weeks since its release, People reported.

The movie, conceived from James Hughes's travel anxiety, has since influenced Hollywood Jargon with such concocted words as 'being home aloned' or being left behind at home while the rest of the family travels on Christmas.

Meanwhile, despite its success, some critics like The Australian Film Critics Association blasted the four succeeding sequels as 'being a sad imitation of the original' as mentioned in Newscom.au
