Adele Set to Perform New Music on Hour-Long BBC Special
Fans will be listening to more tracks from Adele's latest studio album, "25," very soon.
The 27-year-old British songstress will be performing new music in an hour-long special episode that will be airing on BBC in November. The network made the announcement on Tuesday.
"This is the music event of the year and I'm thrilled to be part of bringing it to BBC One. This opportunity to spend an hour with Adele, her music and her stories is a truly rare treat. If I wasn't hosting this special I'd be sat at home watching it!" Graham Norton said.
Adele added, "The BBC has been wonderful to me over the years and Graham and I get on great so it's going to be a laugh."
The special, which will be her first TV performance since she sang "Skyfall" at the 2013 Academy Awards," will be titled "Adele at BBC." During the special, Adele will be performing tracks from her new and old albums.
Adele released her first single, "Hello" last week. Since its release, "Hello" has already topped the iTunes chart in 102 nations. Within the United Kingdom, it reportedly sold 165,000 copies over the weekend.
The number of views for the music video, which was directed by Xavier Dolan, has surpassed Taylor Swift's record for the celebrity-packed "Bad Blood" music video. "Hello" recorded 27.7 million plays within the first 24 hours, whereas "Bad Blood" generated 20.1 million views within the first day.
The singer, who took time off after becoming a mom, talked to BBC Radio 2 about how she "struggled" to find inspiration to write the album.
"Obviously, I took a lot of time off because I came a mum," she said. "And then, when I thought I was ready to start writing, I wasn't. So I took some more time off. A couple of times, I thought I'd dried up. There was also a period I thought, 'maybe I should just go out on a high. Maybe people have heard enough of me.'"
For information on how to attend the recording, fans can visit the BBC's website here. The taping will take place on Nov. 2.
Adele will also be the musical guest of the Nov. 21's episode of "Saturday Night Live."
