HP unveiled its latest Elitebook Folio 1020, Windows-based sleek machine with advanced features including theft-proof always on feature.
HP is setting a new benchmark in the laptop category with the launch of Elitebook Folio 1020. The new machine is an extremely sleek one with Windows OS and theft-proof features to keep it protected at all times.
Weighing at just 2.2 pounds, the Elitebook Folio 1020 is deemed as the world's lightest laptop.
HP Elitebook Folio 1020 is powered by Intel's new Core M processors and features a 12.5-inch Quad HD display. Its advanced security features make it a military grade machine, which can withstand "drops, shocks, and exposure to extremes of temperature and humidity, and high pressure," the company said.
"Customers demand not only a stylish, thin and light notebook, but also a device that delivers advanced security and can withstand the rigorous demands that come with a highly mobile lifestyle -- and the HP EliteBook 1020 delivers this complete solution," Alex Cho, vice president & general manager at HP Commercial PCs, said in a press release.
The Intel powered chips gives the new HP machine good speed and its fanless design makes minimal noise while running. The laptop has an integrated "always on" feature that enables device tracking using GPS even when the OS is shut down. Owners of HP Elitebook Folio 1020 can remotely erase all the data in case the machine is lost and bears any confidential data.
Other features of the Elitebook Folio 1020 include a 720p webcam, speakers with HD audio and DTS studio sound by HP along with noise reduction technology. The laptop is equipped with a premium keyboard, which is the first for any laptop by HP.
The PC maker did not reveal the pricing details but said the HP Elitebook Folio 1020 will be available in February 2015. Prices will be announced prior to the laptop's availability, which can be checked from the company's official store.
