Lane Dispute Kills 4-year-old in a Road Rage
In this shocking incident, a 4-year-old girl was shot dead in the case of road rage. Alan Garcia, the girl's father, picked up his two children from school and he was trying to get off the freeway, he was forcefully veered off his lane by another car driver. What ensued later was a battle of words and rude gestures that led the other man behind the wheel open fire at Garcia's pickup truck. Lilly Garcia, the 4-year-old girl was seated in the backseat of his father's car when she when bullet shot her in the head. This episode stunned New Mexico City, reported CNN News.
The suspect has been identified as Tony Torrez who chased Garcia's truck and shot two more times. As her younger brother noticed that his sister is bleeding, Alan pulled over and tried to give first aid to his wounded daughter. Meanwhile, a bystander called 911 to help the dying little girl. By the time help arrived, Lilly was already bleeding profusely and lay at the tailgate of her father's truck. The police have already detained the man who has been suspected of killing Garcia. Torrez has already admitted to firing at the Garcia family as they were driving on I-40 of Albuquerque. The police have charged with multiple counts of murder, child abuse, assault and other such crimes. According to Judge Chris Schultz, "This is possibly one of the most wanton and atrocious acts in the history of this city" said Fox8 News.
Another witness of the shooting, Jonell Tafoya, said that she was taking her daughter home from the I-40 freeway when she saw the two men involve in a fight. According to her account, it seemed like Alan was keeping Torrez from passing his car deliberately. "The red truck was kind of swerving to keep the red car behind them," Tafoya said. "When we were leaving the overpass, I said 'Something bad is going to happen from this.'", reported Star Tribune.
