It has only been a week since Tesla's autopilot software has been rolled out and there is already a footage out there that reveals the system's anomalies. With this update, the car will be able to use sensors that are both inside and outside to maintain a safe distance, follow correct speed protocol and change lanes safely as well as automatically. However, the new videos that are viral on the internet show that drivers who keep their hands off the steering wheel can cause the car to swerve out side of its lane. This feature has raised some serious questions regarding the legality of self-driving cars, reports Daily Mail.

According to a YouTube user RockStarTree, he said 'I admit I started to ignore the warning to keep my hands on the wheel so that I could record the moment to share with friends,'. 'That's when all hell broke loose. 'My car was tracking the car in front of me to successfully steer, but I was going slower and that car eventually drifted far ahead of me.' As the car starts to steer away from its lane, the incident could be averted because there was no traffic from the other side. However, as the video progresses, the driver could be seen almost colliding into an oncoming car.

Another video revealed by CNET shows that the car slowly moving towards the side of the road. The owner is seen taking control of the car before it hits the curb side. The user says that the autopilot functionality is still being tested for full hands-off and driving in this mode is strictly not recommended. Musk said, ahead of the launch, 'We're being especially cautious at this stage so we're advising drivers to keep their hands on the wheel just in case,'.
