HP's New Elitebook Folio 1020 Laptops Are Sexy And Secure
HP has unveiled the EliteBook Folio 1020 family of laptops which is believed to be the industry's thinnest and lightest business-class notebooks. These ultra-thin notebooks are just 15.7 mm thick and weigh up to 1.2 kilograms.
Hewlett-Packard's ultrathin Elitebook Folio 1020 laptops are equipped with "always on" capability so the laptop can be tracked even when it's turned off. In case of theft, it can be tracked down and data can be remotely wiped.
The company is tailoring the always-on tracking feature for the company's Web-based Touchpoint Manager mobile-device management service.
The new laptops sporting 12.5-inch screen, can offer nine hours of battery life, the company said.
The Folio 1020, which comes in two models, have solid-state drives, 720p webcams and no fans. The premium Elitebook Folio 1020 Special Edition model weighs 1 kilogram and is composed of materials including carbon fiber and magnesium lithium. The Elitebook Folio 1020, which does not have the same composition of materials, weighs 1.2 kilograms.
The Special Edition screen has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the Elitebook 1020 model has a full high-definition screen.
The notebooks include HP's exclusive enterprise-class security, including certified Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2/2.0(6), pre-boot authentication, fingerprint reader and the exclusive HP Sure Start self-healing BIOS to help better protect your device, data and identity, stated a report by Nasdaq.
Pricing of the laptops has not been unveiled yet, however the availability of the products are expected starting January.
