1 in 3 Vegetarians Secretly Eat Meat When Drunk, Survey

In UK, a survey discovered that a a cheeseburger or kebab can upset the vegetarian diet when the consumer goes tipsy.

The survey was conducted by VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, About 1,789 British vegetarians were quizzed about their eating. About 37 of those quizzed said yes to "when drunk, do you ever meat?"

They were all faced with lists and many answered positively to another question: How often did they consume meat after drinking? They were also given a choice to select the best answers as per usatoday.

These were the conclusions:

  •  Every time you are drunk on a night out: 34 percent
  •  Fairly often: 26 percent
  •  Rarely: 22 percent
  •  Occasionally: 18 percent

The next question was which food they were "most likely" to eat when drunk. The answers were as follows:

  •  Kebab meat: 39 percent
  •  Beef burgers: 34 percent
  •  Bacon: 27 percent
  •  Fried chicken: 19 percent
  •  Pork sausages: 14 percent

The average amount spent by vegetarians on meat was $7.36.

Finally, to the question---how many of them admitted that they ate meat, 69 percent said they didn't, while 31 percent said they did, according to the Huffington Post.

Another US study by Faunalytics  discovered that 84 percent of vegetarians do not really stick to a strict vegetarian diet.
