Pokemon Go Release Date and Rumors: Which Generation Of Pokemon Are You Rooting For?

Almost immediately after its announcement last month, Pokemon GO fueled discussions and rumors about which generation of Pokemon would be introduced in the game. While expressing their love for Pokemon across generations, most gamers would like to see Pokemon from all generations in their game's Pokedex when it releases next year.

Reddit discussions reveal that fans are wondering if Niantic and other co-makers of Pokemon will allow gamers to capture and play Pokemon from all six generations. Fans want to know if Pokemon from specific generations would be restricted to continents or if they would be available at all locations. Given that many of them are location-specific and environment-restricted, they are bound to be geographically limited. That however has not stopped fans from asking if all generations would be present in the game.

"It makes sense for them to start with gen 1 and get people into the game, then slowly it can grow and they can add a new generation every 6 months or year or whatever, to give the game a slow and steady progression. This would also give us all something to look forward to in the game, instead of just having hundreds of Pokemon handed straight to us right out of the gate," wrote one Reddit user.

As in past discussions, discussions about generations also saw avid fans ask how much they would have to travel to catch their favorite Pokemon. The game's makers have not revealed details but more information could be expected later this month.

The new Pokemon game will be released with the Pokemon GO Plus wearable device that will provide gamers notifications from the game without having to look at their devices. The game's testing is set to begin this winter and a possible release early next year.
