NASA celebrates Black Hole Friday on Twitter
Many people across the United States made their way out to the stores today to take advantage of some of the great Black Friday deals available. To celebrate the day, NASA and other space agencies have been posting black hole-related images in celebration of what they are calling "Black Hole Friday."
NASA spent the day tweeting facts about black holes, including a handful of Black Friday-themed jokes.
Above is an artist's conception of a black hole five times the mass of the one at our galaxy's center, in a superdense galaxy 1/500th the diameter, the M60-UCD1 dwarf galaxy.
A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls its surroundings so hard that even light can not escape its clutches.

Black holes can be either large or small. According to NASA, some scientists think the smallest black holes are as small as an atom, and those tiny black holes are so dense with matter they can have the mass of a large mountain. The space agency sent out over a dozen tweets and retweets on black holes.
