Colombian priest Father Pito is elated in spite of a raging forest fire.

He claims that he has got a film of Virgin Mary on his camera phone at Paramillo y El Rosa, San Sebastian region. The area had been ripped apart by fires.

"Our father Pito took the picture, but he didn't realize that she was there until he saw it in the camera, when the virgencita (little virgin) had appeared," one villager told local TV, reported the Daily Mail.

"Yes, it's true that you can see her image in the middle of the flames," the villager added, according to Florida News Grio  noted.

The image of the Virgin Mary in the captured shot does make the local villagers sure that their luck is about to change for the better.

"This is good news for our area which is so dry in the summer, because the little virgin is going to illuminate us and she is going to help us get through this," a villager said.

Sadly, the forest fires have affected almost 300 families on 740 acres of land. Six are injured, four foresters are missing and hundreds have gone homeless, according to HNGN.

"For all of those who had to leave with their possessions, who are now on the street, in whatever way we can, we will move forward," the villager said.
