Jim Carrey's Girlfriend ‘My Cathriona’ Dead For Apparent Suicide

Jim Carrey's on-and-off girlfriend, makeup artist Cathriona White was found dead in her home on Monday night. Police investigation is considering suicide as the cause of her death.

TMZ said that Cathriona's death was first found out by two of her friends in her Sherman Oaks home.

Pills were next to her body thus leading the police to consider that death came after a drug overdose.

Paramedics who try to rescue Cathriona from her Sherman Oaks home released a report saying she is already dead at the scene, CNN said.

Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office who conducted a post mortem investigation of her body is considering that the 28-year old committed suicide due to the presence of a cryptic note on Twitter said to be show her depression linked to her recent breakup with the 53-year old actor.

"The report is not completed, but it is an apparent suicide," he said.

On September 24, the Irish makeup artist posted a message on Twitter saying, "Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest."

Meanwhile, the 53-year old comedian expressed his sadness over his girlfriend's death saying that he is "shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," Mail Online reported.

"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt," the actor continued.

In an email, Cathriona's mother Brigid shared her heartaches to her friend in an email.

"My Cathriona is dead. My Cathriona is dead. Can you believe it? What am I going to do? What am I going to do?'

Jim Carrey and Cathriona White are said to start dating in the summer of 2012 but had split after a few months. They are rumored to rekindle their romance sometime May this year and have been seen in various outings in New York City.
