He was just 11 years old, but his feat was awesome even for an adult. James Dukes from Marietta, Georgia, helped his mother to deliver his baby brother earlier this week.

The young man was at home with his mother, Kenyarda, when she suddenly went into labor earlier than expected, according to CBS News.

"All of a sudden I couldn't get to the bed anymore, so I just collapsed on the floor," Kenyarda said.

Her husband had been away, and her new-born baby was just coming out. So finally, it was her 11-year-old James who helped the baby to emerge. He rose to the occasion in order to help his mother.

"It didn't really scare me. It was more just like, 'let me clean the baby off, make sure he's okay, make sure my mom's okay," he said, according to MSN News.

He then called 911, and was told by the emergency operator to look after his newborn brother so that he could keep the baby safe and warm while the 911 respondents rushed to help her.

Both mother and child were "safe and in stable condition" when the paramedics arrived, reports Fox 8 News.

"He was my help, he was my guardian angel. He was the man, he was the doctor, he was my superhero," Kenyarda said.

Even as his family is convulsed with pride for his actions, James too has received a wake-up call to change his plans. Instead of playing for the NFL, he now wants to become a doctor, after getting inspired by the little brother he delivered.
