Music has the power to enhance your spirits and sweep depression away, while it can improve your health and well-being, according to the American Psychological Association.

A researcher from Holland's University of Groningen calculated specific songs to make listeners happy. Jacob Jolij devised a set of "feel good" songs with the formula.

"A feel good song is very personal. Music is intimately linked with memory and emotion, and these associations strongly determine whether a song will put you in a good mood or not," said Jolij via the Daily Mail.

"However, there are some key criteria for composers to consider when creating feel good songs - namely lyrical theme, musical key, and tempo. Combine these three ingredients together and you have the formula for the perfect 'feel-good' song," he added.

Jolij has referred the formula mentioned in the press release on 126 songs to prove his theory. Check out his formula in hngn.

This is the list of the power-packed songs.

Dr Jolij added: "Holiday-themed lyrics naturally remind us of happy times, while a major third musical key sounds happy to our ears and something we associate with confidence.
