Late Miss Honduras' Stylist Found Murdered
Less than a week into the discovery of the bodies of Miss Honduras Maria Jose Alvarado and her sister, the beauty queen's stylist was found stabbed Friday in his apartment in Sandy Bay, on Honduras' island of Roatan.
The body of 41-year-old Luis Alredo Garcia, who was commonly known as Destiny, was found by one of his employees in the bathroom of his apartment. His feet and hands were bound and there were knife wounds on his neck.
It has been learnt that he was missing for many days. Police have launched an investigation into the murder.
Garcia had styled the contestants in August's Honduras Miss Universe contest. None of Garcia's belongings from his apartment were reported missing, so police ruled out the possibility of theft as a motive behind the murder, Mirror reports.
The news comes days after the boyfriend of Miss Honduras' 23-year-old sister, Sofia, confessed to killing her and 19-year-old Alvarado. Bodies of the two women were found buried on a river bank in the mountainous area of Piedra Gigante or Giant Stone.
Police General Police General Ramon Sabillion had told the Associated Press that it was Sofia's boyfriend, Plutarco Ruiz, who took the officers to the burial site. Another man is also in custody along with Ruiz, The Independent reports.
Before the discovery of Alvarado and her sister's bodies, the police officials were optimistic.
"Nobody has asked for a ransom for their liberation and there have been no bodies found. These are strong signs that they are still alive," Inspector Vicente Reyes said last Tuesday.
He further said, "This is a big operation. She is a representative of the country."
Now, the death of Garcia brings a twist to the story. However, it is still not clear whether the beauty queen and the stylist's deaths are linked or not.
