‘Dance Moms’ Cast Update: Maddie Ziegler Dances her way to 13 in a Short Clip [WATCH]
"Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler seems to have a lot more time doing projects that are not related to the Lifetime reality TV show about young dancers and their mothers. Ziegler, whose return to season six is still up in the air, showed off her moves in a short birthday video titled "Lucky Thirteen," narrated by actress Chloe Sevigny and directed by Bunny Kinney.
The short film is supposed to be "an ode to being a 13-year-old girl, entering your teens and being yourself no matter what," Ravi Amartunga, the i-D's global director of video explained. In the clip, Sevigny reads passages from Leslie Arfin's Dear Diary.
She says:
"In a parallel universe I was never hated in junior high. I was never the most popular, but definitely not the most hated either.
I would go to a state college, and find a boring job one day, where I would sit in a cubicle. This is always how I pictured that my life would have turned out, had my junior high school experience not been so traumatizing.
So every day I thank God I was miserable. Seriously. I'm so glad it was a nightmare. It could have been a lot worse. And sometimes, when I feel like I'm boring, I actually wish it were."
After the narration, music starts to play and Ziegler begins to show off her dancing skills to choreography that preteens can relate to.
