Duggar Family Latest Updates: Jill And Jessa Allowed Back on TLC
Are the Duggars coming back to a TLC show again? The network had cancelled the family's hit TV show "19 Kids and Counting" two months ago, due to Josh Duggar's scandals.
But now the sisters Jill, 24, and Jessa, 22, are returning for their own specials, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There will soon be a new production for the specials that have still not been titled, and one of them at least will premiere at some time by the end of the year.
Jessa got married to Ben Seewald in November 2014 and will soon have a baby. Jill shifted abroad with her husband Derick Dillard and their 5-month-old son Israel for a Christian Mission.
"What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child," TLC's executive vice president and general manager Nancy Daniels told the Associated Press. "And we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in."
The shows began to take shape after Daniels learned that this is "something they wanted to do," and would be able to keep Josh out of the show. "We know our audience is really about what's been going on with Jill and Jessa as they move into young adulthood," Daniels continued to explain. "And now they're both at the precipice of big changes. With what was happening in their lives in the next few months, it feels like now is the time [for their specials], and we got going pretty quickly."
The network decided to do the show on the sisters instead of the parent, as they believe they will be more popular. The girls have been in the public eye with their happy lives, according to People
