Pope Francis’ US Trip: His Holiness Here Till Sunday

Vatican on Tuesday released the itinerary for Pope's visit to US. The popular catholic leader is on a historic visit of 9 days starting from Cuba and on to United States of America. Pope Francis is known to have played a key role in restoring peace between these two nations that were formerly cold war adversaries. The Pope is said to fly out to DC and will be the first pope to address the US Congress. The officials have arranged for the largest security operation in the history of America for safety of the pope says Daily Mail.

According to National Catholic Register, Pope arrived in US on 22nd September at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, 4.00 PM. Francis will stay in the US until 27th September and will depart from Rome on the same day at 8 PM from Philadelphia.

United States has a very high standard of living as compared to Cuba. However, according to Pope Francis it is US citizen's responsibility to share with people in need. He will express his intention when he convenes with the homeless people of Washington. He is also scheduled to visit the children as well as the immigrant families in Harlem when he visits New York City the next day. He is also scheduled to meet the prisoners in Philadelphia on his last day in US, according to Catholic Herald.

The US visit for the pope had been planned for a long time before Cuba was added to the itinerary. His trip is said to lay emphasis on the Hispanic population that stays in the US. He is also said to be delivering most of his speeches in Spanish even though he speaks fluent English. In his schedule is also included special blessing of the wooden cross of consequence to the Hispanic population, said Boston Newstime.
