Jessica Simpson Slammed by Viewers for Appearing to be Drunk on Home Shopping Network

Does Jessica Simpson have a drinking problem?

The 35-year-old singer/actress/businesswoman recently appeared on the Home Shopping Network and viewers have slammed her being drunk. During Simpson's live two-hour appearance, she rambled on and on while trying to promote her clothing and accessories.

In one segment, when Simpson was talking about a pair of grey jeans from her brand, she went on a tangent about her younger sister.

"Ashlee is like the best at wearing grey... my sister.... Like, she's very rock 'n' roll, but there's something about a grey... that's like... sexy," she said, "Maybe it's her and her husband, they share jeans... I have no idea.... I don't know there's just something hot about them."

Aside from rambling a lot and leaving questions unanswered, Simpson also giggled randomly, kept swaying and according to some viewers, could not "even hold her head up."

Some of the comments read, gathered by Daily Mail UK:

"I don't like to be negative but tonight's List was difficult to watch. Jessica Simpson's fashion line has some really cute & stylish pieces but she was very awkward & disconnected as a guest. Was something wrong? Where did she keep disappearing to? Autumnal?? There were times I actually winced at what I was hearing. Thank goodness Colleen is such a pro & able to manage such capricious circumstances," one person wrote.

During the appearance, Simpson's mother, Tina, also made a surprise appearance, Many of the annoyed viewers believed that Tina tried to divert the attention and cover for her daughter's strange behavior.

Another one wrote, "This must be the longest 2-hours of Colleen's life. Jessica lacks grace, poise, confidence, and knowledge of her products...thus, the giggling, rambling, and risque comments. Apparently no one has told Jessica that."

One more viewer recommended Simpson to go to school. That viewer wrote, "I sincerely hope she takes some of her profits and enrolls in a 'finishing' school... she needs such a course desperately for she is far too beautiful a young woman to end-up an aged ditz."

"I've never seen her on here before, and will never watch her again. Shame on her, her mom, and HSN for allowing this idiot on live TV in such an obviously altered state," a viewer wrote. "Isn't it the duty of the producer(s) to prevent such a ridiculous situation? She ought to have been told to 'go sleep it off' and let the show go on without her. Hoping the network uses better judgment in the future. I don't care how much of a celebrity or fashion maven Simpson may be, she looked awful with that hair in her face, and her actions were as unprofessional as it gets."

The network released a statement after the segment that read, "It was fun to have Jessica make her HSN debut with her mother Tina last night. We were happy to host them and thrilled with the way customers responded to the collection."

Simpson, her mother and people from HSN have not commented on the backlash.
