Customers Excited About Early Christmas Shopping, Study
Many people are getting excited about the approaching Christmas season, even though a few don't like it.
A couple of surveys---from CreditCards.com and Rubicon Project---have explained that a number of consumers welcome the early holiday push, according to CNBC News.
Some Americans have started shopping this month. Some have completed their shopping.
The first survey, by CreditCards.com, shows that about one in seven Americans, or 32 million people, have started shopping for the winter holidays, while about 2 percent of all consumers, about 4.6 million people, have finished with it, reported Market Watch.
"People like to complain about it, but millions of us are out there [holiday] shopping before the kids even go back to school," says Matt Schulz, a senior industry analyst with CreditCards.com.
The Rubicon Project survey, a digital advertising technology firm, shows that through U.S., U.K., and Canada, just a third of shoppers have started spending for the holiday, according to hngn.
The early shopping is mostly because of the promotional holiday deals early this year, with a few retailers like Wal-Mart starting their program on August 28. Sears-owned Kmart has said that it will again offer "a layaway service for no money down, adding the ability for shoppers to lease items for no money down".
