‘Games of Thrones’ Richard Madden Slams Cara Delevingne for that Awkward Viral Interview, Delevingne Fights Back
Richard Madden, who many know as Robb Stark from the HBO hit series "Games of Thrones," is claiming that his statements about model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne were blown out of proportion.
The 29-year-old Scottish actor spoke about that awkward interview Delevingne had with Good Day Sacramento back in July.
"It was unprofessional," Madden said to Style Magazine. "It made her seem ungrateful. She showed her age. For Cinderella, I did six weeks of those interviews, where you get asked the same eight questions. If you're not capable of doing that gracefully, then don't do it."
In that disastrous interview, which started off on the wrong foot when the host called Delevingne by the wrong name, the 23-year-old actress was accused of being uninterested, tired and irritated. The hosts ended up cutting the interview short by telling her to "take a little nap" and "maybe get a Red Bull." Delevinge was promoting "Paper Towns."
After the interview went viral, Delevingne defended herself by tweeting, "Some people just don't understand sarcasm or the British sense of humour." She also received support from other actors and John Green, the author of "Paper Towns," which the movie was based on.
A part of Green's essay, which he wrote to defend Delevingne, read:
"I watched as again and again, she was asked this question. Cara has read the book (multiple times), but the question is annoying - not least because her male costar, Nat Wolff, was almost always asked when he'd read the book, while Cara was almost always asked if she'd read it."
The actress has defended herself once again months after the interview.
Her two tweets to Madden read:
"@_richardmadden I have no idea who you are but I think it's little desperate for a grown man to be bad mouthing someone they don't know"
"@_richardmadden if you really want attention that badly, try focusing on your own work and not other people's"
After being called out, Madden tweeted Delevingne, stating that his comments were misconstrued.
Hi @Caradelevingne, nothing but respect for you. Misquoted and blown out of proportion. #SlowNewsWeek

Delevingne has not responded to Madden's explanation.
