Miss Alabama Says That 'Republican Party Should Be Absolutely Terrified' Of Donald Trump
Meg McGuffin, who was representing the Heart of Dixie, declared that Republicans should be "terrified" of Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner who she felt is an "entertainer."
This was given to respond to Miss America judge Taya Kyle, the widow of U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who asked her:
"According to a poll released this week, Donald Trump, is leading Republican candidates by 32% of the vote. Why do you think he is leading by such an overwhelming margin?" according to CNN.
The question referred to the new CNN/ORC poll that indicated how Trump has increased his lead among Republican women, upping his share to 33% of women voters, from 20% a month ago.
Hence, the real estate tycoon has built his standing among almost every GOP demographic group and left his opponents non-plussed. While Jeb Bush had said that Trump couldn't "insult his way to the White House", it is Trump who is laughing his way to the house, while Bush sits at 9% in the polls.
To the judge's question, McGuffin immediately answered: "I think Donald Trump is an entertainer and I think he says what's on a lot of peoples' minds, but I think the Republican party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie who could absolutely do the job of President of the United States."
She concluded: "If I were Republican, I would be absolutely terrified of that. Thank you."
Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell was the final 2016 Miss America winner. Meg McGuffin was the fourth runner-up, and got a $10,000 scholarship, according to hngn.
