‘Winds of Winter’ Release Date: George R.R. Martin to star as Zombie on ‘Z Nation’
Even as a zombie, George R.R. Martin will finish his "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series.
Martin, who is working on the sixth book of the series, "Winds of Winter," will be making a guest cameo on Syfy's post-apocalyptic thriller, "Z Nation," EW reported.
Marin will be playing a zombie version of himself, who has been captured by the Collector. Despite being dead, Martin seemingly tries to finish his books, which the HBO TV series, "Games of Thrones" is based on. In one of the pictures, a zombie Martin is hold a book titled, "A Promise of Spring," which is referencing the title of Martin's seventh and final book in the series, "A Dream of Spring."
"I just want to prove to my fans that even in the Zombie Apocalypse, the Song of Ice and Fire books will still come out!" Martin said.
Martin's guest cameo is expected to be in the eighth episode of the second season, which premiered on Friday, Sept. 11 at 10 p.m. This is not Martin's first time guest-starring in Syfy show. He previously made an appearance on "Sharknado 3."
Since Martin found the time to film for "Z Nation," fans are hoping that "Winds of Winter" has been completed. Martin previously stated that he would be putting almost everything aside in order to finish his highly anticipated book first.
"Winds of Winter" is expected to be released in 2016.
