Video: Murder Suspect Makes Faces And Sticks Tongue Out At Victim's Family In Court
Antonio Beatty, 21-year-old, was a suspect charged with first-degree murder for shooting Carlton Whitley, 25. He had been found dead in a parking lot near Metting Road in July, according to ABC's North Carolina affiliate WWAYTV3.
Amazingly, the court hearing had Whitley's fiance, sister and daughter seated in the room. Beatty smiled at them, and at one point stuck his tongue out, and mocked at them.
"I feel like justice needs to be served. He don't care obviously. He showed that his self in court that he don't care, that he don't have no remorse for what he did, and he needs to be charged," Whitley's fiancee, Octavia Bryant said, according to NBC's North Carolina affiliate WECT 6. "He needs to go down for this. This is not right. He took my daughter's father from her. She don't deserve that and then you're going to stick your tongue out at a five-month-old? She is a baby!"
Whitley's sister, Ebony Silman, was furious. "He needs to be dead. He needs the chair," Silman said. "He don't care, he killed a life and don't care."
Later, Beatty in a jailhouse interview said the family was "taunting" him throughout the hearing, so he just taunted them in return, according to Breitbart.
"I mean I'm upset myself, but they ain't have no right to stick their tongue out at me, they ain't have no right to stick their middle finger up at me. F--k y'all, they lucky I didn't do more than that," Beatty said.
His family, which was also there, claimed that "he isn't completely responsible for the murder," but he "could face the death penalty if convicted."
A judge put Beatty back in jail under no bond. He will be given a court appointed capital defender, according to hngn.
