‘Games of Thrones’ Spoilers: Rory McCann Spotted in Belfast, Is The Hound still Alive?
Although many characters on "Games of Thrones" have died gruesomely, others appear to cheat death. One character, in particular, who fans believe is still alive is Sandor Clegane, also known as The Hound.
According to Watchers on the Wall, Ryan McCann, who plays The Hound, was spotted in a hotel in Belfast that HBO and the "Games of Thrones" cast frequently use when filming.
The blog post wrote:
"I've heard from a source whom I trust, who has provided us reliable information going back several years, that Rory McCann was seen recently staying at a hotel in Belfast commonly used by HBO and Game of Thrones cast members during filming.
Currently, McCann has no other projects scheduled, or any other reason to be in Belfast that we're aware of. Book readers have their theories as to how the Hound- or rather, Sandor Clegane might return. But it wouldn't be the first time Game of Thrones has diverged from the original story if they choose a different version for the return of Sandor Clegane."
In the TV series, which is based from George R.R. Martin's book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire," Arya Stark, who was traveling with Clegane, left him wounded at the side of a hill instead of complying with his request to put him out of his misery in season four. Clegane was severely injured by Brienne of Tarth, who thought she was saving Arya.
Although fans never see Clegane die, it was suggested that he had died since there was no one nearby to give him any medical attention.
Aside from McCann, Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, is still reportedly in Belfast. Fans believe that Snow, who supposedly died in the season five finale, is still alive even though Harrington and the show's producer/screenwriter, Dan Weiss stated that Snow is dead. Harrington could be in town to film a funeral scene. However he has been in Belfast for a while.
Natalia Tena, who plays Osha, and Art Parkinson, who plays the youngest Stark, Rickon, have also been spotted in Belfast. These two characters have not bee seen since season three when they separated from Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Hodor (Kristian Nairn), who will also be back for season six.
Season six of "Games of Thrones" should be premiering sometime in April next year.
