Angelina Jolie began a verbal attack on the ISIS. At a House of Lords committee Tuesday, she asked the United Kingdom "to have a very strong response at this time" to the Islamic State, who she said are using mass rape as "a centerpoint of their terror," according to designtrend.

"This terrorist group we are dealing with in Syria and Iraq is absolutely using rape," she said. "They are dictating it as policy. This is beyond something we have seen before... they are saying, 'You should do this, this is the way to build a society, we ask you to rape.'"

"What it means to be here with you at this committee," Jolie continued, "in your Parliament, knowing you are studying the best ways to help these women -- I think that speaks to young women about their value, I'm very happy to be here."

As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Jolie added that for over a decade, she had visited the field and met families and survivors of sexual violence who felt that they were not heard or accepted.

She said she had met girls as young as seven years who had been raped in war zones.

Jolie explained that jihadist fanatics in the "most aggressive terrorist group in the world" were using sex attacks as a "very effective weapon", and the use of rape by ISIS was a new horror and she called for a "very, very strong response" to the terror group in Iraq and Syria, according to dailymail.

Jolie's next film will tell the true story of a young girl's childhood under Cambodia's Khmer Rouge regime, which was of similar barbarity as ISIS. Having adopted a 14-year-old son Maddox from Cambodia in 2001, Jolie said that she felt a deep connection to Cambodia. "I want to respect its history and bring a film to the world that will not only show the hardships of war but the dignity and resilience of a people I deeply respect."
