Jealous Boyfriend Takes Selfies After Burning House Where His Girl Had Met Another Man
A house was burned down in Glen Burnie by a man from Maryland. He was in a "jealous rage" and after burning it returned to the site to snap some "fire selfies" before the house, say the court documents.
In the morning of July 17, Justin Michael Clum, 26, of Pasadena, California was drinking vodka with his girlfriend when she admitted that she had a sexual encounter with another man, according to hngn.
The incident immediately set him on fire. He began to "freak out and punch himself in the face" according to the court's document. He then took his girl to the house, poured gasoline on the porch and set the house on fire.
It was horrifying that there were three people in the house: a man, a woman and their 15-year-old daughter. Fortunately, they all escaped unharmed, while the man who had a sexual encounter with Clum's girlfriend was not on the spot.
Instead, he went with his girl to the methadone clinic after the fire and waited there until opening time, got methadone and began to take photographs of himself, which his girlfriend said were "fire selfies," before the ruins, using his cellphone.
The police arrested him on Saturday, accused of "three counts of attempted first-degree murder, arson and other charges" and immediately held on a $1 million bond, according to hngn.
Clum said nothing much during the bail review hearing, except that he understood the charges. "Mr. Clum is an obvious threat to the community and these victims," Assistant State's Attorney Aaron Meyers said.
