According to the latest buzz, a 20 year old has put forward a poignant issue by exposing a mental illness with the help of a tattoo.

A junior student of George Fox University, Newberg embedded a tattoo on her left thigh, which profoundly characterizes her personal struggle with depression. The post has gone viral in the wake of a heartbreaking malady; depression, which has kept millions of individuals in its snare leaving them with no good.

The young girl Rebekah "Bekah" Miles, has finally impressed the social media network gathering more than 324,000 likes and 37,000 comments, seeking the courtesy, locally as well as globally.

The tattoo is extremely irreplaceable and distinctive as it incorporates two dimensions to it. To the people it reads "I am fine", but for herself, it reads as "Save Myself". This is more of a silent scream for all those who are facing this aggravating and worrying sickness, which has left people with no choice or cure at all because of its social unacceptability. The tattoo is a mere depiction of the concept of paradox; where Rebekah fights with herself every day and has to appear joyful in front of the others, whereas deep inside, she is ensnared and caught up in depression, without highlighting it to anyone.

The young girl confesses as she was inspired to get this tattoo. Rebekah visited her psychology professor in the university and came up with this thought as according to her, this would be a perfect way to draw attention to the emerging illness as people are uncomfortable talking about mental ailments due to the response.

According the National Institutes of Health (NIH), depression is not rare. Nearly 16 million individuals are fighting from depression as part of their daily routine, but unable to communicate and express their sentiments because of either the lack of treatment or reluctance to accept it.

According to her, depression is not at all a choice. She hopes that her tattoo helps eradicate the social disgrace associated with depression. She wants people to be open about it, as it can at some point be fatal and life-threatening too.
