'Sense8' Season 2 Update and Rumors: Netflix Sci-Fi Series adding new Cast Members?
Fans of Netflix's hit sci-fi series, "Sense8," can expect a lot more interesting characters in season two.
The show's co-creator, J. Michael Straczynski, talked about the next season of the show in an interview with Assignment X before the show was renewed for a season 2.
"There are other clusters out there, and if there were to be a second season, we might be meeting them," he said.
Stracynaki added, however, that fans should not expect every new sensate to be on the side of the show's main cluster (Riley, Will, Kala, Wolfgang, Capheus Sun, Lito and Nomi). (Spoilers alert) In season one, viewers met Whispers, a sensate who works with an organization to take out clusters. In season two, the group could end up meeting sensates with the same purpose.
"Some of them will be more [attuned to the commonality of being in a cluster], some will say, 'I'm hiding out, don't reveal me,' the value of not being seen," Straczynski explained. "So not all sensates will be naturally good people. Some people with that ability might not be the best people. So there's a whole range of them."
Aside from the possibility of meeting sensates, the main cluster still has not lot to figure out. First off, Will, the Chicago cop, looked directly into the eyes of Whispers, which puts him and the rest of the cluster in jeopardy. The season ended with Will drugged up (to repent Whispers from connecting with him) and lying in Riley's arms. His future is unknown at the moment. However, sensates who made eye contact with Whispers are encouraged to kill themselves in order to protect the rest of the cluster.
Second, the relationship between Kala and Wolfgang might have ended before it could bloom. Kala, who has been questioning her engagement to Rajan, saw Wolfgang violently kill his uncle and everyone in his uncle's house to protect his best friend. Will Kala marry Rajan in season two even though she does not want to?
Third, Sun is facing jail time after she took the blame for her younger brother. Now that her dad, who was going to tell the truth, has died Sun might be sentenced to jail while her brother walks free. Capheus, Nomi and Lito all have their own issues that should be addressed in season two.
"Sense8" season two does not have a premiere date yet.
