Iran: N-Deal Was Not Weakening, 'Will Use Missiles Or Whatever It Takes To Defend Country'

He pointed out that their military capabilities are not impacted at all by the nuclear deal concluded a month ago along with six global powers.

"We will do whatever we need to do to defend our country, whether with missiles or other methods," said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Saturday.

"With regards to our defensive capability, we did not and will not accept any limitations," Rouhani said at a press conference, reported Reuters.

His comments seem to be beaming a message to hardliners who seem to be afraid that the deal is a hint of Iranian weakness.

Just a few days ago, Iran said that it will launch "a new cruise missile production line for high-precision Nasr air-launched missile systems." They will be set up on drones in the future, reported NBC News. The country also unveiled a new surface-to-surface solid-fuel missile, named Fateh 313, that it said could hit targets up to 310 miles away with precision-accuracy.

On Saturday, he added that was not in favour of a parliamentary vote on the nuclear deal, as a political understanding had been reached with the P5+1 world powers. After all, it was not a novel pact that needed a parliamentary stamp.

The new agreement has woven a compromise on both sides. While international sanctions will be removed, Iran has promised to "limit aspects of its nuclear program".

With that, Iran can start encouraging "foreign partners and investment", according to hngn.

"Foreigners must bring investment and technology and partner with Iranians so that both sides can benefit by winning a share of the Iranian and regional markets," Rouhani said. "The ultimate aim is to create employment for our youth."
