Lucy Liu Welcomes First Baby Via Gestational Carrier
Lucy Liu is finally a mother and welcomes her first baby boy, Rockwell Lloyd Liu in her world.
On Thursday, the 46-year old actress introduced the baby on Instagram saying, "Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In [love]," as Yahoo News reported.
In the black-and-white photo, the actress cradled the newborn in her arms while she is sitting in an easy chair.
"I can confirm that Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the world via gestational carrier. Mom and baby are healthy and happy," her rep told the media.
Hello Magazine said that a "gestational carrier" is different from "a surrogate" as the latter raises questions on whether it is still one's biological child or not.
In the past, it is learned that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban also resort to a gestational carrier when they are having trouble conceiving their second child, Faith.
Little is known about Liu's personal life as she has succeeded in keeping her personal life away from media eye but has made it clear in a 2013 interview that she has always wanted to have kids of her own.
"It just hasn't happened yet," she said that time.
As to her romantic life, Liu was previously linked to businessman Noam Gottesman, actor Will mcCormack and writer-film director Zach Helm, Mail Online reported.
Outside showbiz, she has been active helping children all over the world being a UNICEF ambassador, New York Daily News said.
It's about getting out the message that we need to help children and educate ourselves. Education is key to understanding what needs to change for these kids in the future," she said in an interview.
Currently, the actress is busy directing the US drama Graceland.
