In the last upcoming sequel to the "X Men" trilogy "X men Apocalypse," Jennifer Lawrence's character "Mystique" may be in hiding, according to the star herself.

In a latest interview with IGN, where she was promoting her film "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," she said:

"She's very complex, so she's kind of both. She's a hero to her own race, in a way, which makes her a villain to the opposite race. I don't really know where she's going to go. I've had a few conversations about where we'll find her. She basically has to be in hiding somewhere, but I don't know."

While Lawrence didn't really confirm anything, speculation about Mystique's role in "X Men Apocalypse" has been taking several twists and turns. Earlier, it was rumored that Mystique's relationship with "The Beast" would be touched upon in the movie and her romance with Magneto would also be explored.

Mystique's character development has perhaps been the most intriguing in the "X Men" series. Even if she does go into hiding in the latest installment, she would have to resurface to fight off the ancient Egyptian mutant that's se to take over earth in "X Men Apocalypse."

Brian Singer is returning to direct "X Men Apocalypse" and other characters like James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will also be reprising their respective roles. The production is reportedly testing actors for the role of younger versions of Cyclops and Jean Grey. The movie is set to hit theaters May 2016.

More recently, Singer posted a photo on Instagram teasing the script of the much-awaited movie.
