Rockstar is set to release the popular Rockstar Editor for PS 4 and Xbox One to let console gamers make their own clips, in September.

Currently, only GTA V players on PC can access the editor as Rockstar originally planned to restrict its availability to the computers. It however seems popular demand has pushed the company to release for console gamers. The company announced an update next month that will feature an upgraded Rockstar Editor for current generation consoles. The upgrade will also be made available to PC gamers.

"This update will also bring with it some new features for the Rockstar Editor that will be available for all three platforms including PC, along with some exciting new gameplay for GTA Online Freemode that we'll be sharing more about in the coming weeks," Rockstar said on in its website.

The new upgraded editor will have library of ambient audio and sound effects that players can add to scenes, new fonts, updates to director mode which allows freezing chosen time of day and exporting still frames directly to Snapmatic, the GTA 5 in-game photo-sharing app.

According to Christian Post, the new update, dubbed Lowrider or Lowlife DLC, will also feature new cars and add a new dimension to gameplay.
