The Ashley Madison hack has exposed millions of people throughout the world. The website, AshleyMadison.com, connects married or committed people who want to cheat with one another. Since the hackers, known as the Impact Team, dumped the data onto the Internet, Gawker has tracked down the members to the companies they work for in order to compile a list of companies with the most accounts.

Gawker used the American Registry for Internet Numbers and a private database as their sources for IP addresses. Here is their list:

1. Viacom - 294

2. NBC Universal - 183

3. Univision - 145

4. Dow Jones & Co - 110

5. New York Times Company - 85

6. Fox News Channel - 49

7. ABC News - 41

8. Hearst-Argyle Television - 37

9. Associated Press - 30

10. Condé Nast - 29

Gawker noted that all of the IP addresses were sourced from a third party and not the organizations. Gawker explained:

"IP addresses are not permanently assigned and can change hands over time, so it's possible that some of these addresses may not have been used by the news organizations at the time the accounts were created. To verify the data, we have spot-checked many of the accounts, and we generally found that they either were created or appear to have been created by people who work at the associated media company."

Gawker added that these companies are large corporations and the hits could be linked to research and not actual cheating.
