One Direction To Take One Year Break In 2016 After Releasing Fifth Album; Plans To Have Solo Career Underway
One Direction will take a one year break after promoting their fifth album to be released in 2016. With this, rumors of the boys going for solo projects that may lead to their final disbandment are also around the corner.
Design and Trend quotes a source from The Sun saying that the decision has been made not out of 'bad blood' between members and is not sign of their final split.
"The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband. They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 percent behind the decision," the source said.
The source also assured 1D fans that the band will meet again for future projects and next year's break is 'definitely not a split.'
Unfortunately, the break may also mean that the group of four-- Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan cannot be seen in future tours this year. Fans should not also expect tours in promoting their fifth album which is set to be released later this year, People said.
The decision to split up, as announced after 1D released their newest video "Drag Me Down, has nothing to do with Zayn Malik's leaving earlier this year and has even been thought of before Malik left the group.
"This was the plan with or without Zayn. The band have been making amazing music and been incredibly happy without Zayn. Of course they would have preferred that he had stayed in the band, but they would have taken this extended hiatus even if he hadn't left," the source said.
Talking about pursuing their solo careers, sources said that Sony is eyeing Harry Styles to sign a recording contract. However, the actor has not made a decision yet as he is torn between continuing his singing career or pursuing a Hollywood acting gig.
Nail Horan, on the other hand, is intent in making his own music while, Liam Payne wants to focus on his songwriting.
Louis Tomlinson is also happy to be one of UK's The X-Factor judge next year.
Meanwhile, the news has saddened One Direction fans who vented their disappointment in social media, BBC said.
"I'M CRYING RIGHT NOW! I DONT WANT ONE DIRECTION TO SPLIT UP NOT NOW PLEASE! MY LIFE WONT BE NOTHING WITHOUT THEM I LOVE THEM SOOOO MUCH <3"
"Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope if one direction split up I'll never be happy again"
"Not to be overdramatic but one direction is over and so is my whole life"
