Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce rumors have been doing the rounds for a long time and remained just that, rumors. It now transpires that there may have been some truth to them.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry reports that Jolie confessed her marriage had issues and that she was to blame. The confession reportedly came during an interview with the Director's Guild of American about her new movie 'By the Sea'. The movie and its filming may have had a role in exposing the cracks in the marriage, the report suggest.

By the Sea is about a disenchanted couple featuring Jolie and Pitt. To make the scenes realistic, the actors decided to play out their real-life frustrations. Things got to such a pass that anger and frustration that lay dormant, sprang to life bringing bitterness. At one point, Jolie reportedly insulted her husband in front of the cast.

All this proved too much for Pitt who took to alcohol to soothe the nerves. This only worsened things, threatening to the cause marriage split at the seams. While Jolie hit out at Pitt for drinking too much, he argues with her about smoking and why she doesn't quit despite a strong family history of cancer. Jolie has undergone preventive breast and ovaries removal.

Kids may also be stressing the marriage. Brad Pitt is often left at home caring for the couple's six kids while Jolie gets to work on her projects, CDL report claims.
