Kanye West New Album Update: White House Shuts Down Petition asking President Obama to Demand the Rapper to Release his Album

More than 10,000 Kanye West fans thought that they could get President Barack Obama to force the rapper to release his new album. These fans all signed a petition on the We the People service asking for the President's help. The White House, however, has since removed the petition.

According to Billboard, the petition stated:

"Kanye West has kept us thirsty for too long. We haven't gotten any new singles in months. The President should order Ye to drop the album on the date August 21st, as his producer Mike Dean has been teasing people about."

The White House closed the petition under its moderation policy.

West has been teasing his latest album, SWISH, which was previously named So Help Me God, for about two years already. So far, the rapper has released three tracks, "Only One," "FourFiveSeconds," and "All Day," and teased two ("Wolves" and "U Mad").

Contrary to what the petition said, Dean never made any announcements about the album. In a recent interview with Montreality, Dean stated that the album will be done whenever "Kanye says it's done."

In the meantime, fans will just have to wait until West either announces a release date or unexpectedly drops his entire album.

West's last album, Yeezus, was released in 2013. The album shot up to number one throughout the world.

West has undeniably been busy with his pregnant wife, Kim Kardashian West and their child, North West.
