Android Lollipop Update: Sony Xperia Joins the Google League

Last week, some of the Nexus and Samsung devices received the Lolipop 5.1.1 updates that had some very important security patches, including for the stagefright vulnerability issue. Some more model handsets of Samsung continue to receive these updates, apart from Sprint phones that received the updates, T- Mobile has also released Android Lollipop updates for Samsung devices.

An article published in Techtimes, details the updates T mobile sent out of Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, and galaxy S5; while updates for the premium models such as Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be released soon. This will upgrade Galaxy Note 4 to N910TUVU1COG2; Galaxy Note Edge to N915TUVU1BOG2; and Galaxy S5 to G900TUVU1FOG6. The updates will improve security, and for Galaxy S5, updates also include fix for the swipe issues and for the stagefright vulnerability bug. Google and Samsung have already announced such security fix on a monthly basis.

Now, Sony too, has released Android Lollipop updates for its models such as The Sonly Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3, and also for its compact Tablet device. The updates include firmware identification 23.4.A.0.546. These updates will help users change from the home settings the icon sizes, etc. Connection to Bluetooth and Wi Fi toggles is now possible without having to navigate to the settings menu. These updates will also help improve the general theme, icons, etc. Alarm with sound through volume rockers is an additional feature of the updates.

Other Sony models such as Xperia Z2 and also for the Sony tablet Xperia Z2 will receive these updates in the coming days. Sony is focusing its energies on releasing updates for Android 5.1 and hence those looking for Android 5.1.1 updates may have to wait a little longer, reports Realtytoday.

LG handset models will also receive these updates very soon, as LG, along with Samsung and Google will now release security patches on a monthly basis.
