Singing Happy Birthday Spider-Man On The 53rd Anniversary Of His First Comic Book
Spider-Man was born 53 years ago. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko gave birth to him and introduced him to the world, creating among the most sensational comic book franchises of all time, according to comicbook.
Spider-Man was "swinging onto spinner racks and newsstands" in the Amazing Fantasy #15 on August 10th, 1962. He brought in a novel breed of superhero and style. However, Stan Lee's editors hated him, and Marvel pushed the story into Amazing Fantasy #15, which was the "last issue of series that they had just cancelled".
However, Peter Parker was loved by all. Readers asked that Spider-Man should come back with his own comic book. Hence, Amazing Spider-Man was published on March 10, 1963---and endures!
How do you celebrate his birthday? Here are some suggestions from whateverspidercan. "Watch, or re-watch, the original Spider-Man trilogy. Laugh at lines such as "Go Web, Go," cry a little as you cringe to Tobey Maguire's "cool" dancing in Spider-Man 3, enjoy the great film that is Spider-Man 2, and lament as the third movie's depiction of Venom leaves you fuming.
Move on to watching the reboot movies Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2. Attempt to find out what's got Electro so blue...."
Otherwise, just check it all out (for free) on Marvel.
