What A B'day! Whataburger Offers Free Meal Upgrade As It Turns 65
It was 65 years ago on August 8, 1950, that the first Whataburger restaurant was opened by Harmon Dobson in Corpus Christi, Ayers Street, Texas. On Saturday, the fast food chain is offering a freebie, according to abc.
Currently, it has over 34,000 employees.
According to its website : "This tiny burger stand offered something people had never seen: a burger that was so big, they had to hold its five-inch bun with two hands."
Its pancake mix is available at its official website, along with shirts and other souvenirs.
And now, the food chain wants to extend its gratitude to its guests. "We want to share our thanks in a big way to all of our customers who have enjoyed our classic Whataburgers, just like Mr. Dobson proudly established at his first burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas 65 years ago," said Rob Rodriguez, Senior Vice President of Operations.
So visit the Whataburger on Saturday, August 8. It is giving guests who order a regular meal a free upgrade to its Whatasize meal. This upgrades one meal to big fries and a 44-ounce fountain drink or tea. The Junior meals also include medium fries and a 32-ounce fountain drink or tea.
