New Girl Star Zooey Deschanel Welcomes Her First Child and Gets Married Secretly!

US Weekly reported that New Girl star Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik have welcomed their first child. Baby news wasn't the only good news the magazine had to share with its readers. Deschanel's representative told US in a statement: "I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl," confirming the rumors about the couple getting married in secrecy. The couple reportedly got married on June 21 in Texas, according to the court records.

Deschanel has been known to prefer staying out of the public eye when it comes to her private life. The couple's decision to keep their marriage a secret for a while could be explained by that.

The baby girl is the first child for both 35-year-old Deschanel and her 42-year-old husband. The couple had announced that they were expecting a baby back in January and had chosen not to reveal the gender of the baby. Deschanel reportedly said it was more fun trying to predict if it will be a boy or a girl.

During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's show a couple of months ago, when asked about her pregnancy Deschanel complained about the pregnancy diet, which can be very challenging. She said: "You can't have sushi. You can't have cheese that tastes good. You can have a little bit of coffee, but I would have, like four cups a day. And now I can have a half cup, which is a joke! It's a total joke!"

Although the newly-wed actress does not have experience in motherhood, Deschanel's co-star Max Greenfield from New Girl thinks she will be great at it. "She will make a fantastic mom. She takes care of the whole show, so I don't think she'll have a problem with the kid," he said, reported by US.
